Bearcat was born in the roaring twenties but has been carefully reimagined as a modern living arrangement. Some parts of the original setup have survived, like the study with a lovely view of the surroundings – with a typewriter to inspire your creative side – and the occasional retro-futuristic hints. This is a bright home with an atypical layout which means each room has its own character, but the whole look is neatly tied together. Bearcat is a great home for those on their first trip to Los Angeles and we recommend starting your day on the balcony, watching the city wake up over a nice cup of coffee. Avoid the rush hour and drive to Downtown LA a little later, soaking in the sights and exploring the culinary scene. If you're staying in the Hollywood Hills, you may as well do it properly. And at this home in Laurel Canyon, fabulous mountain views, a private pool and numerous balconies and terraces really set the scene. Built into the hillside, it's a new home with a mix of contemporary styling and timeless elegance. If you're hoping for glamour, it's here in bucket loads.Inside, all-white walls, trendy wall art and floor-to-ceiling windows are matched with a luxury chef's kitchen, a cinema room, a wine cellar and six dreamy bedrooms. But our favourite room has to be the lounge with its striking fireplace, squashy velvet sofas in shades of rose and raspberry, and giant sliding glass doors opening to either side. Choose to step out onto the balcony for the best views or head out to the garden at the back for a swim in the Baja pool.
