This is a great house in Los Barriles, with ocean front, pool and a beautiful garden that goes great with it. We spent last weekend here with my family and we all loved it. 100% recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Los Barriles! The house, garden and pool are as beautiful as the pictures. The kitchen is pretty well stocked for cooking the fish you'll catch, and the DVD library is great if you have a rainy day. We will definitely return!

This is a beautiful, quiet beachfront home in Los Barriles (which is about 40-50 miles of good paved highway north of the SJD airport). There is a sign to the house off the dirt road leading north out of Los Barriles (there is a big dirt road fork off the main dirt (Follow Noviembre) road from town just past the big arroyo...take the right road) (the sign) says "Paul Son" house (Mexican version of Paulson), on the right side of the road just short of the cell tower which is to the left of the road. The house is green and yellow (go Oregon Ducks!) and at the end of the road on the beach. The house is nicely decorated with beautiful metal fish sculptures on the walls, big open area for the kitchen/living room. All bedrooms have beautiful ocean views. Lots of storage space in the bedrooms and beautiful tile work in the bathrooms. There are huge balconies on the 2nd floor overlooking the sea of Cortez. The pool area is large and well maintained. There is a BBQ area outside that we did not use. There is an outdoor shower that we did use. The grandkids (ages 6 and 10) played non-stop in the swimming pool, and the adults can lounge under shaded palapas nearby. The garden is beautiful with gorgeous flowers and coconut palms (be sure to lock the gate so the wandering goats don't eat the lush shrubery to the ground). There is a sandy part of the beach that is great for walking (lots of dogs on the beach). Lots of coral and sea shells on the beach. Further toward and in the water it is rocky. My son-in-law caught a small sierra wading to his waist and casting a Cast Master lure. There is a sandy point about 300 yards south of the house that is great for swimming. The kayaks are the smaller, open kind. There is one paddle board. There is just one set of complete snorkel gear. Half of the days during our stay it was too windy to use them. Car parking is secured with a locked gate. Lots of great restaurants in town (El Viejo was excellent and cheap, too for breakfast and lunch... fish, shrimp, scallop, chicken, beef tacos). Lots of ex-pats cruise around in their ATV's...very friendly group of folks. John Paulson has a 6 passenger ATV parked in the garage that you can rent for much less than you would pay in town. We didn't use the ATV because we had lots of other things to do (the horseback rides on the beach with Betto were great...corals next to the main dirt road leading north out of town). Spend some time reading and understanding how to operate the hot tub/swimming pool controls. It takes some trial and error to get things just right. Buy some bagged ice at the store (Chapitos on main road into town from the main highway). There are only 2 ice trays in the freezer. Lots of spices, ground coffee and cooking oil available. Usual kitchen stuff-microwave, stove, blender, coffee-maker, plates, knives, silverware...no dishwasher (Big trash can next to the garage). The house is fully air conditioned and very secure...beautiful architecture and lots of windows. The well water from town is safe to drink (we didn't get sick and never heard of anyone getting sick). Betto, the rental home service guy is pretty busy with his horse rental business to be of much help. He did respond when we contacted him). I never actually met him. His wife escorted us to the house and let us in (she speaks very little English). The Wi-Fi works well in the house. My son-in-law conducted some business while out of the office. All-in all a wonderful property at a reasonable price for a beach front home. Much less than you would pay in Cabo/San Jose del Cabo and much quieter. When you have 7 or 8 family members, it's a lot cheaper than renting cramped hotel rooms. A great family vacation home. The owner, John Paulson, is very helpful and easy to work with. Can't wait to come back again!

Great place! House is great with a pool and hot tub on a beautiful beach. We also rented the Viking side by side (super fun in the area) and had some meals catered in. Josefina and the team we’re great!
