I was tasked with finding a place for my husband and our two friends to stay for Carnival. We are world travelers and I had very low expectations for what would be left with a 3 week window for booking. I was pleasantly surprised by the Uverito Beach House! The house has an ocean view and is tucked back nicely from the small dirt road that runs through uverito beach. The location is within a five minute walk to the restaurants in town. The property is completely fenced in so strays (which is very common in Panama) can enter the premises. There are two lovely hammocks on the patio which are perfect for a leisurely read with the sounds of the waves to keep you company. The house itself is a quintessential Panamanian home, with a small living room and dining room and two beds and two full baths. The bedrooms each had air conditioning (which worked very well, so well that we had to turn it down at night). The kitchen was completely stocked with everything!!! (paper plates, plastic forks, cups, spices, paper towels, everything.) The home was professionally cleaned when we arrived and done so very well. I often bring my own cleaning supplies with me when I rent a private home, just in case; but I did not have to do a once over myself because the housekeeper did a good job. In one review someone complained about wasps, well, there were wasps, two to be precise and they were outside. I would rent this place again because it was perfect for our trip. We needed a clean, quant and quiet space and we got more than that. Sitting on the patio in the hammocks was probably the best part of the trip for me. Oh and for those of you who are looking to watch tv on your vacations (which in my opinion is pretty lame) but if you are, the tv works and so did the DVD player (the owner had like 3 books full of DVD's, which were all meticulously organized). A quick note about the owner, he is the most responsive owner I have encountered on any of the services that I have used. His name is Walter and he responds same day to every request, almost always within an hour or two. He even checked in on us the day we arrived. The only suggestion I would make is that the grill needs to be repaired. But it's not surprising given that it's a beach house and wear and tear will be what it will be.

Walter Amadee owns this Panama property but cannot effectively manage it from sunny California. He advertises Wifi, cable TV and a washing machine but in reality the cable TV hasn't worked in at least 3 months, the Wifi was spotty at best and then failed after three days as did the washing machine. Power failures are common in the area and the second one in December knocked out the washer. The incompetent local, Ricardo, whom he sent to repair it stole my Fugi fx10 camera right off the dining room table, took parts of the washer and never returned.
The kitchen sink is rusty as are the eating utensils.
During our 17-day stay we encountered one cockaroach, one cricket, zero scorpions, six wasps, three crabs, and an unknown number of termites eating the wood core of the bedroom door. The house was swept and new sheets were put upon the bed but the toilets still had someone's poop on the bottom of the seat and top of the bowl. Used toilet paper filled the waste baskets in both bathrooms.
The Playa Uverito/Las Tablas area has Atrazine in the water making it unfit for human consumption. There is a pig farm a few kilometers upwind from the house which gives off unsavory odors at various times each week. There is a garbage dump also upwind which burns garbage every day except Christmas sending the aroma of smoldering plastic, diapers and trash wafting through Playa Uverito. Towels and clothes hung on the line readily pick up the stink.
The beach has little to offer as high tide brings in flotsam and low tide leaves it there for all to see. Driftwood, plastic bags and bottles and styrafoam take-out containers litter the beach and blow about in the wind. Wear water shoes if you brave the waters there as sting rays lie about at low tide just two feet below the surface. There is also a time when thousands of sea snakes (kraits) come ashore to lay their eggs. I don't know which month that is but December wasn't it. You can Google it.
If you still think Playa Uverito is for you then there are alternatives to this property at a much lower rate ($350)/month) as opposed to $70/night. Hotel La Luna, Las Pelicanos, Posada Del Mar are a few. Ernie rents apartments near the restaurant Donde Chinto but I don't have his email address.

The house is very accommodating but I wish I had known before that the water in the showers and faucet is salty, the soap does not create any suds whatsoever and it is not drinkable, everything had to be washed with bottled water. An added expense for me. The beach is nice and the restaurant called brisas something is great. I would recommend it despite that but if your travelling with small children I'd rethink it. The internet is faulty and there was no cable.

My father and law and I stayed here for 4 days and enjoyed the houses many amenities (full kitchen, air con in the bedrooms, the hammocks and laundry room were big pluses).
The location was perfect for us as we could just walk across the street to the beach and swim or walk the beach. Only three restaurants were open during our stay and just two were available the entire stay (Pedros - El Capitan was only open Thurs-Sat since it was low season for them), The best meal we had was at Brisas del Pacifico excellent fish and service. Short drive to Las Tablas as there are no stores in Uverito but the stores in Las Tablas had everything one could want.
The only downsides for us was the house had not been aired out prior to our arrive so it was a bit musty and hot (once we got the doors and windows open it cooled down nicely), the wifi has seem much better days and we managed less than a meg down with just above zero up so sending a message would fail 9 out of 10 times, taken with a grain of salt since we were after all looking for something out of the way. The TV never worked but was more of an after thought and was more of us just testing to see what was available. Lastly we were asked to take our own garbage away when we left since the maid wouldn't be out for a week and didn't come by at any point during our stay, which worked fine for us but I can't imagine how someone who had bused in would do it.
Overall a great and relaxing stay, just figured people should know what they are up for when they arrive.

My husband and I stayed a few days at the beach house, the Pacific ocean just steps away! The house has air conditioning in the bedrooms, a full kitchen, two bathrooms - one with a tub which is hard to find here in Panama! There's a television, dvd player, and high speed internet but we did not use them, we spent our time reading and walking on the beach. The locals are so friendly and helpful, we ate at a nearby restaurant - food was delicious! I didn't really cook since such tasty meals are available nearby with really reasonable prices. It has a large porch with rocking chairs and hammocks perfect for watching the sunsets. We would recommend renting this nice beach house. We don't have a car and got around without any problems using taxis. Las Tablas is 10 minutes away and perfect for shopping for souvenirs and having a leisurely lunch or dinner .

My husband, teen daughter and I had a lovely time at Walter’s beach house in Uverito Beach. All of our questions were answered promptly before the trip and upon our arrival we had a message asking if everything was all right at the house. Excellent service. The house was fully equipped with everything one could need; from linen & towels, furnishings and kitchen appliances (both large and small…microwave, toaster oven, blender, etc). The laundry was a huge convenience and even the laundry detergent was provided.
We ate most of our breakfasts at the house as we were there midweek and the neighborhood restaurants were closed (bought groceries in town just a 10 minutes drive) and enjoyed looking at the waves just across from the front porch. It was hard to plan outings because I didn’t want to leave this serene and quiet area! I could spend hours on the hammocks (and did!) so did my family. We didn’t get to use the internet or TV as there was an issue with the connection but we realized that we didn’t need it after all. Everything was very clean. Did I say the view was amazing? It is. Hot water and AC is all I need and “Casa Blanca” had both to offer, and much more! We definitely recommend staying here and you the rate is more then reasonable. Looking forward to staying here again.

Nice kitchen and wonderful porch. Need car to have any activities. Stayed two weeks. Had one snake, multiple bugs, a few cockroaches and more than one crab...in the cabin. The double bed is two twin beds pushed together, but old and broken down. Good air conditioners that are greatly needed and appreciated in bedrooms only. Wi-fi is old ( 1997 model router) and slow. This is a good place to use as a base to seek out a better place to stay. It could be a very nice vacation home if owner would just do a little maintenance.

I stayed here during Carnavales with my mother and boyfriend. Las Tablas was a 10 minute drive away - very convenient. The house had everything we needed - linens/AC/warm water/outside shower to wash off the sand. The washer was also very convenient. We ate more than a few meals at Brisas del Pacifico which is basically across the street. Neighbors were very friendly. We would stay again.

I liked it here in Uverito beach! The house was sufficient and comfortable
Walter, the owner provided everything needed for your stay and was a pleasure to communicate with.
There are several local restaurants within walking distance that serve the daily "catch" of the day and are very affordable. The beach, which is right across from the house, was very nice and only crowded on the week-ends. Los Tables is the nearest city for supplies and only a short ride away. I would return here and will recommend it to those who are not looking for the standard "hotel/motel" senerio. It was a pleasure to stay here! I enjoyed the experience of a true Panamanian way of life. Thanks again!

Imagine waking up to the sound of the Pacific Ocean only a few steps from your front door! Envision miles of beach without another person in sight. That's what you get with the Uverito Beach House near Las Tablas, Panama. My wife and I stayed two weeks in the beach house and used it as a base from which to explore the Azuero Peninsula. The house has everything you need to enjoy the peace and tranquility it offers. It sleeps up to four people with air conditioning in each bedroom. In addition, a full kitchen is available with fridge, stove, and all the dishes and utensils you will need. I went fishing only about 100 yards away and caught a nice big red snapper which I cooked in the kitchen. There's a television, dvd player, and high speed internet in the beach house. Walter is the perfect host, and he does everything he can to make sure the stay is a pleasant one. If you are planning to visit Panama, the beach house is a must do!

My husband and I stayed here with our 3 small children for 10 days and enjoyed every minute. To be able to wake up and walk the beach every day and lay in hammocks at night was very relaxing. The home is fully furnished, especially the kitchen, which was nice. The internet worked just fine for us. We didn't have any bug issues aside from a few small wasps on the front porch, but that's nature. Aside from the crazy busy Easter weekend, the beach was completely ours. My children had a blast "exploring" on all the rocks. I can't even believe a past reviewer commented on a few rust spots in the sink, really?? To be able to stay with a family of 5, yards from the ocean, in a fully furnished house, with a secured yard, in a quiet area, for a great price, why complain about anything? Oh and Walter does a great job managing his property, from thousands of miles away, he checked on us several times to see how our stay was. We would recommend and stay again.

We had a nice stay in Walter's beach house. It is on the second line of the beach. We were there on a Saturday, when all Panamians come to the beach to party: a lot of noise, all night long, interesting though. It has two bed rooms with air conditioning; where we could hide from the noise and heath. The house needs some TLC, but the porch is lovely. Nice restaurants nearby

My family and I liked very much .Walter´s Place. We enjoyed our stay everything excellent.
Huge portal in the front let you see the beach from there. There were a lot of cheap sea food restaurants around. I liked specially "El Capitan " restaurant. On Friday nights is an excellent place share with old friends. We enjoyed everything there night and day no complain at all.
Cable tv, wifi, and a huge collection.of movies. I want to rent again very soon.

We booked the day we arrived and it was no problem to get the key. Nice lady explained everything. The house is well equiped with everything you need for a stay.
Some things would need to be renovated but still everything works just fine. Internet and TV are really good.
The house is just a few steps away from the nice beach with lots of shells, which was a big joy for our kids.
The only negative thing to say was that the electricity was gone twice during our stay, which is normal for Panama,(so this is nothing that can be changed by the owner) but still it was a bit annoying.
We would recommend this lovely beach house with the hammocks and the nice view for beach vacation.

Just back home from our stay at this beach house in October .
There were a few small issues at first, but Walter had the issues taken care of immediately. Not a patch job fix; a brand new bbq & brand new hot water demand heater. Fabio , his property manager, was so helpful, efficient & a very nice gentleman.
The bonus of course, was our built in security, a beach dog who we named Carmaletta. Hopefully you will meet her on your stay there; white little female, with black spots & the sweetest face & disposition. We fed her & never worried when we went into Las Tablas for supplies, etc. She was always there when we got back; wagging her tail. But should anyone else come near the gates, she was on duty, right away. She'll accompany you on your beach walks , even though, due to her sweet disposition; she is targeted by the other, more aggressive dogs. Oddly enough, they are afraid of people, so just shout at them & they leave her alone & disappear. She is the weak link there, so if you could show her some compassion ,& feed her, it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. We even had the vet out to treat a bite she received from another dog; she is very healthy now; we had her shots updated & a regime of anti-biotics & vitamins were given to her, during our stay. Enjoy her & the beach house! Thanks again, Walter, for making our stay at Uverito Beach, a great one.

We stayed at Walter's house for 3 nights during the Carnival Time of Year and had a great time with at the beaches and near by restaurants. The house had parking out front and is surrounded by a secured gate. However, the drive way was steep and a little rugged, we luckily had a Hyundia Tuson which was just able to make it up the drive way. Both rooms had good AC units but the master bedroom ceiling fan needs some repair. Although we experienced some funky plumbing, Walter was very responsive and eager to solve the issue. We really enjoyed sitting out on the front patio during sunset, reading our books and chilling in the hammocks. The house is in the center of Uvierta so you are walking distance to everything in town.

We loved our two weeks at Uverito Beach House. It's just what we wanted from our Panama vacation. We read, walked the beach, took the minibus into Las Tablas when necessary. The beach is almost deserted during the week (hello, peaceful!), but weekends it's like a festival with local families and fun for a great change of pace!

Uverito Beach is lovely, very quiet and beautiful to walk. We were able to experience the Panamanian culture. The waves were very high while we were there so we did not swim however lots of the locals did.
Our beach house was great, lots of room, the terrace was awesome for morning coffee, a nap in the hammock or sipping our wine in the evening. It was great to have a washer and dryer however the clothes line worked perfect. We felt very safe and comfortable. The bbq was great especially when a local fisherman came by with the biggest prawns we have ever had!
Walter the property owner is awesome!!!! Very quick to respond and helpful with many suggestions. We had a couple of issues in the kitchen when we arrived but he was very quick to reply with a resolve. We truly appreciated his kind heart and understanding.

We rented Walter’s house for 31 days in March and April 2019. The house had plenty of room for the four of us and the veranda provided shade, a cooling breeze and a great view of the ocean. Swimming in the ocean was high on the list of activities most days, as was walking the 4.5 km long beach, which provides great shell collecting opportunities. Walter very quickly arranged for repairs when there was a need. We did not use the parking space within the yard as we deemed the difference in height between the ramp and the road could potentially damage our rental car. Fortunately parking by the side of the road or in the parking space for the neighboring house (when nobody was using the house, which was most of the time) were suitable alternatives. The kitchen and living/dining room tended to be hot in the afternoon and evening, making supper preparation and eating uncomfortable. We think this could be remedied with a window in the rear wall of the house to create a cross breeze (or perhaps a vent and fan to push air through the space). A table fan on top of the refrigerator could improve comfort in the kitchen. During our stay is was mostly quiet at night except for two occasions when the bar across the road and to the left hosted large party events with very loud music. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at “Casa Blanca”.
